New York City

Dave had an interview in Syracuse, New York last week, so we decided to make a trip out of it, and go to New York City for a few days before we headed to Syracuse. We got to do so many fun things in New York that we were not able to last year. (One of the best parts was seeing our family friend- Ena While in town.) We walked the Brooklyn Bridge, ate at an amazing- famous pizza place and then rode to the top of the Empire State Building at dusk. We were able to see the city in daylight and then watched as all the lights came on in the city. That was my favorite part- absolutely spectacular. We saw Mary Poppins on broadway- it was such a cute play- I enjoyed even more Phantom of the Opera. The stage work was incredible. The next day we went to the Cloisters- an impressive castle built in midevil architecture that houses millions of artifacts from many different European countries. We saw the famous Unicorn tapestries. I was very impressed. It was cold, but we were prepared for it luckily, so it did not interfere with our plans to tour the city. We just love New York! If given the chance, we would love to live there for a few years. We had a great time!!! Dave on the walk up to the Cloisters castle. Resting on a bench outside central park The castle from the road Dave in the Cloisters Beautiful stained glass from France In front of the green house atrium of the cloisters My cute husband waiting for Mary Poppins to begin In the theatre awaitng Mary Poppins We ate at Hard Rock in memory of our Brother-in-law- Jason. At the top pf the Empire State Building On the Brooklyn Bridge The lights coming on in the city Empire State Building- what am I doing? The George Washington Statue- the spot where he was inaugurated. The american flag in lights on a bldg on Wall St. American Stock Exchange- Wall Street Brooklyn Bridge Grimaldi's Pizza Dave and the city skyline from the Brooklyn Bridge Bridge again... This is the New York City temple- in the middle of a very busy street. They also use part of the ground floor as the church building. Chapel etc. Pretty different and very cool.
