The Day of Love

Being close to Valentine's Day and all I thought I would post something about Love and how important and essential it is to our lives. All people crave it, some people die for it, and I hope we all live for it. As for me, LOVE transcends all other emotions. It is the sweetest, most motivating feeling. It can change hearts, quiet fears and close gaps that otherwise would never shrink. The first two of the ten commandments involve LOVE. That we LOVE God and then that we LOVE others. The irony of it all is that it is so easy to love others when we first feel loved. The most difficult part is to LOVE those that are not particularly loveable. You know the people that can easily dance on our nerves, those that say things without thinking that hurt our feelings. I believe that the greatest measure of a man is made manifest in the face of his unloving attacker. Our Savior is the perfect example of kindly dismissing judgement and undeserving attacks by his enemies. I want to be better at this. Valentine's Day is yes, very commercialized, yet I like this holiday because LOVE is something that needs to be celebrated. Not just between couples, but the LOVE we feel for all our family members, for our friends, and maybe most importantly those that may be unloveable in some way or another. I also love Valentine's as it gives me a special reason to make a glamorous meal and dessert for my husband! I love, love, love my dear Dave. He is my best friend and love of my life!
