House-Hunters in Vegas and more...

Recently we drove down to the Las Vegas valley, and  scoured the city of Henderson for the perfect place to live. We looked at every apartment complex, and finally found just the right spot where we will abide for the next few years. There were certain pre-requisites to my obliging to an apartment complex. We have been fortunate enough through our marriage to never have had to live in an apartment- not they are bad, but they can be box-y and very loud.

I told Dave I needed lots of natural light and a fantastic pool, (as I will be 7-9 months pregnant in the dead of the summer), and lots of Palm Trees, (so I can pretend I am in Hawaii). :):) Anyway, we found a nice place that has plenty of all 3.

While we were there I really began to appreciate Henderson and I am excited to live there for a couple years. They have loads of great shopping and yummy restaurants and lots of Palm Trees and warm, sunny days. I think I am going to like this!

We stayed at Dave's Dads house while we house-hunted, it was on a very nice lake, and everybody had boats and we took a leisurely spin one evening and checked out the beautiful homes and admired the "wildlife."

From Vegas we headed to the coast of California and we stopped in the cutest little Danish town called Solvang. It reminded me so much of Europe. It was adorable and the shops were so cute. Dave loved the pastries and "dutch pancakes"- have you ever seen pancakes this huge?

Then it was off to Carmel. I LOVE this city. I love the ocean, and the fresh air, and the classiness and cleanliness of the city. I love peering in all the shop windows like a little school girl full of wishes that knows she can not afford whats inside. I love the beach and the feel of the warm sand squishing between my toes, that turns cool as the sun sets. I love it!

And then we ended our trip in San Francisco- the city where we fell in love. We took a trip to San Fran when we were dating and I so remember thinking, "I love this city, I love this guy, and I want to be with him forever." On the way home from that trip I remember talking in the car about our individual dreams for the future, it was the turning point in our short courtship. Not long after that trip we were married. Now at least twice a year we return to this city, where we walk until our feet feel like they will fall off, all the while enjoying the great vibe and energy of the city, the unique people, crazy-good food, and we always sneak in a Giants game overlooking the water.

This woman was amazing. She sounded like a female version of Bocelli. Everyone stopped within the sound of her voice. It was incredible.

And then we headed over this famous bridge on our way to our favorite place in the world-HOME!
